With fashion changing every minute its hard to keep up, one day skinny jeans seem to be in fashion and the next flares seem to be the hottest thing going. However there are a number of timeless pieces that you can add to your wardrobe to make your outfits constantly relevant and on point.
1. A good quality handbag
Every girl wants a designer handbag and whilst they are undoubtedly expensive it is definitely worth it. I'm not telling you to fork out £10,000 for a Hermes Birkin, but instead of buying multiple bags throughout the year from high street brands such as Topshop, Zara and (Michael Kors) save up for one designer bag.
2. A good pair of black heels
Black heels tend to go with everything, dress them up with a long dress or dress them down with a pair of ripped jeans, they usually tie your outfit together. Try to stay away from huge platforms and just go for a classic shape, with a thin stiletto.
3. A white T-shirt
You can tuck a plain white T-shirt into a pair of high waisted Levi jeans or wear it with an A line skirt. A white t-shirt will forever be timeless and cool what ever age you are.
4. A plain pair of flat pumps
Lets be honest we can't always take the sky scrapper heels just to go to the supermarket.... so a wardrobe essential is a flat pair of shoes. Invest in a pair of leather pumps so they can last for a multiple number of years.
5. A leather jackets
Leather jackets always look cool, oversized, biker, quilted or just a plain leather jacket you can always pull your outfit together with one. They are a lighter alternative to a coat... so as the weather gets warmer a leather jacket is a must have.
6. A blazer/jacket
Sometimes a leather jacket isn't appropriate for all occasions, so it usually good to have a blazer/ jacket at hand. Its best to go for a tailored blazer that flatters your upper body. You should go for neutral colours such as black, white and grey.
7. A pair of well fitting jeans
For many years I tried many jean shapes from skinny, to mom jeans, to boot cut and none looked right. I convinced myself that I was the one person in the world that jeans did not suit..... until I actually got fitted for the correct jeans by someone who knew what they were doing. Jeans are a staple in everyones wardrobe and them fitting is an essential.
8. A white shirt
A white shirt smartens any outfit up. Wear it with a pair of ripped skinny jeans or even some tracksuit bottoms and your ready to go.
They are comfy, forever in fashion and people purposely try to make them dirty to get 'that look'. So whats really not to like? Whilst they are not exactly beach wear shoes they are definitely appropriate for those summer Guaba Sundays where a few to many people invade your personal space and trample on your feet.
10. A baggy jumper
You should always have that go to jumper, that you will have until there are just too many holes in it for you to try and conceal. It is the jumper that you know you look good in and can always turn to in times of need. It is the jumper that you can throw on with a pair of jeans or just a pair of over the knee boots.
When you buy a staple for your wardrobe (especially an expensive one) you should always try to buy neutral tones. With colours such as black, white and grey you can always style them in different ways. For example a plain white T-shirt can be dressed with a pink blazer to give off a 'feminine' look whilst the next day you can wear the same white T-shirt with a leather biker jacket and ripped jeans to give an edgier look.
But whatever you do, wear your clothes with confidence and you will always be the most fashionable person on the street !
